Teen Alcohol - Monday, June 29, 2009
TEENS AND ALCOHOL
After a recent sermon by Pastor Greg, a group of concerned folks decided it was time for our church to take a major step in spearheading a group to look at, discuss, and most importantly – do something about the growing issue of alcohol and teens in our community. We have met twice and are in the process of deciding what we can do. We would like to invite anyone who has not been involved in this group and is concerned with the problem –and it is a problem- to join us. Our next meeting will be held here at the church on either July 8th or 9th (date to be decided yet) from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. At this meeting we will be watching the movie “The Edge of Reality” which was made by the students of Neenah High School to show the effects of drinking and driving. We will also discuss changes in some of our programs here at church and also how to get the word out to the community. Please join us – there is work to be done!

Food Pantry - Monday, June 29, 2009
LET’S STOCK THE SHELVES
Summer is here and the kids are out of school.   People go away on vacations, everyone is busy and often we get distracted because summer is so short. What summer means to the Community Cupboard is that families will need more food than normal because the kids will be home all day. Donations are down because people are busy, gone and just plain forget. Let’s make sure that over the summer those shelves stay stocked. Take a minute when you’re shopping and pick up a few extra items to drop off at church so we can continue to stock the shelves at the Community Cupboard during the summer. Thank you for your continued support of our local Community Cupboards and Your Mission Committee. ~Mission

Summer Book Study - Monday, June 29, 2009
SUMMER BOOK STUDY!
When we vacation this summer, how many of us will just hop in the car and head out, without any concern for our destination? Certainly that sounds silly to many of us. But, in our church life we tend to do just that. What is Heaven? What is it really like there? These are the central questions of a discussion group that will start Tuesday, July 14, and run through the final weeks of summer. Wally Schmidt and Kip Morton will facilitate the discussions that center on the book “Heaven” by Randy Alcorn. Other materials you may have are more than welcome. Pre-registration is not required but we would appreciate knowing whether or not you are interested so we can have enough materials ready. You can just sign-up on the green sheet on the clipboard on the Narthex table or email Kip Morton at clif@athenet.net
