BIBLE STUDY TO CONTINUE
Everyone is invited to attend continuing Bible study on Thursday afternoons at 1 p.m. The discussion scripture will be the scripture that Pastor intends to preach on the following Sunday. You can come every time, once in a while, or even one time! You can prepare by looking at the scripture before you come, or just come! See Pastor Greg with questions. Upcoming Scriptures:
March 11 – 2 Corinthians 5:16-21
March 18: Isaiah 43:16-21
INTERESTED IN JOINING FIRST CONGREGATIONAL?
If you are interested in church membership, a new group of members will be joining in February or March. We have tentatively set a date for our new member’s luncheon, it is April 11th after the 10:10 service. Please see Pastor Greg if you are interested in joining.
CANDY BARS AVAILABLE
Candy bars are now available for Camp Scholarship. If you are interested in selling or buying, please see Kaylene Kloehn, Wendy Lauer or stop in the office.
KISS THE COW!
Thank you to all who gave to the Sunday school project “Kiss the Cow.” We raised $697.87 for the Heifer Project. Watch for upcoming details of when Pastor Greg will be kissing the cow.
THEATER MINISTRY
Anyone interested in being a part of the Theater Ministry Team - this includes adults, youth and children - may sign-up on the sheet that is on the board, call the church office or contact Wally & Mickey Schmidt – 920-982-5165. We’re looking at material for Lent and hope you’ll think about joining us.
COMMUNITY Cupboard Requests
For March they are looking to stock the shelves with quick, easy, filling meals. Here are the suggestions of what they need:
Pancake Mixes – the fewer the ingredients the better
Syrup – if you’re going to have pancakes you need syrup to put on them.
Macaroni & Cheese – a good old standby. Not many folks out there that won’t eat this.
Hamburger and/or Tuna Helper – quick, easy and always seems to be on sale.
Tuna – good shelf life and it’s good for the helper above or on its own.

These forms need to be filled out and sent to TeenServe in Holcomb WI, address is on forms. After they have received them, Karen Laedtke will be contacting you for what times and areas you can volunteer for. We are still in need of homes to repair. We only have 30 right now, and we need 100. TeenServe is 90% full for this summer which means 400 Youth will be coming to New London to work on homes! Check out the website at wwwteenserve.org. ~ Karen Laedtke
Family Meals:
We have opened up our meal time on Wednesday nights to all those who have meetings at the church or just would like to join us at 5:30 p.m. There is a free will offering to offset the cost of food.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!
We are in need of volunteers for Sunday mornings. In the January newsletter was a short description of ways you can help. You will get an email or letter by Thursday before the Sunday you volunteer, reminding you and a more detailed description of what you’ll be doing. Please sign up on the bulletin board in the Narthex or call the church office. If you would like to know more about a certain job, stop in and we’ll be more than happy to go over it with you
CHANGE OF ADDRESS
If your address has changed or you are planning on moving, please let the church office know. Also, if you have a new phone number or email address, please let us know.
Teens, Alcohol and Drug Abuse
In January we sponsored a overnight lock-in that focused on the problems of teens and alcohol and drug abuse. One of the things that were mentioned in the teen and adult discussion was the lack of a parental network. This would help parents get to know others who are concerned with the problems associated with drug and alcohol abuse by teens. If you are interested in joining such a group please contact Mary Schulz and we can start a program for parents.
IF YOU ARE HOSPITALIZED…
Due to government regulations, the hospital CANNOT notify the church of your hospitalization without your written consent. If you would like the church to be notified, please let the hospital staff know, or call the pastor yourself (or have someone in your family call for you). Hearing it “through the grapevine” is not helpful, as information that comes that way is not often reliable, plus the church doesn’t know what your needs are. Please be direct as possible! Any questions, contact Pastor Greg. Thanks.
